Twitter Will Now Let You Schedule Up to 10 Spaces Broadcasts at a Time

Image
Twitter Spaces increasingly feels like a niche offering – highly valuable to those that use it, but the group of those who do regularly tune in seems to be getting smaller, as opposed to expanding overall Twitter usage. But still, for those that are using Spaces, they evidently do use it a lot, with a key feature request being the capacity to schedule multiple Spaces at one time. Which you can now do, with Twitter enabling broadcasters to  schedule up to 10 Spaces at a time , up to 30 days in advance. As you can see in these examples, you’ll now be able to access a listing of ‘Upcoming Spaces’ in the app, from which you can edit any of your planned sessions, or share them via tweet. To be clear, you’ve been able to schedule a Spaces broadcast  for over a year , but now, you’ll be able to plan out multiple sessions all at once. So if you are among the Spaces advocates that are spending hours tuning in each week, you’ll now be able to build that into your planning, and keep your audien

Google hasn't approved Truth Social's Android app because of all the violent content

Image
Truth Social  is still MIA in Google's mobile app store and it's not because an Android version of the platform doesn't exist. According to a new report from  Axios , Donald Trump's conservative social network still has not been approved by Google for its Google Play store due to content moderation concerns from the tech giant. "When are we going to be available on Android? Well, look, that's up to the Google Play store," said Truth Social CEO Devin Nunes in an Aug. 26  appearance  on the right-wing media outlet, Real America's Voice. "I mean we're waiting on them to approve us and…I don't know what's taking so long." However, a source tells Axios that Truth Social is very aware of the issue and it relates to incitement and threats of physical violence found on the right-wing social media platform. "On Aug. 19, we notified Truth Social of several violations of standard policies in their current app submission and reiterated t

WhatsApp users on iOS may soon be able to search messages by date

Image
Last week, WhatsApp  made it easier  for users to make UPI payments on the platform. Now, the developers are working on a new feature for those on  iOS  that might let users sort messages by date. According to a post by  WABetaInfo , WhatsApp might soon let iOS users search for messages on a particular date. The feature is currently available on WhatsApp beta for iOS 22.0.19.73 update from TestFlight. It looks like WhatsApp has added a new calendar icon which might show up when you are trying to search for a particular message in a conversation. Clicking on the button opens up a calendar view where users will be able to pick a date. If you want to dismiss the calendar view, just scroll through the conversation and it will disappear. The newly added feature will really come in handy if you want to look at when you first talked to someone or if you want to read messages sent on a particular date. Keep in mind that you will have to sign up for the beta if you want to use the latest Whats

Court Rules that Twitter Vs Musk Trial Will Go Ahead in October, After Musk’s Team Sought Extension

Image
So where are we at in the ever-evolving Twitter versus Elon Musk saga? This week, Musk’s lawyers have once again sought to delay the October trial, in order to give themselves more time to establish their case for exiting Musk’s original  $44 billion Twitter takeover deal . Following the  recent allegations  from former Twitter security chief Peter Zatko that Twitter had misled the market about its performance, and has glaring security flaws, Musk’s team has been seeking to meet with Zatko to glean more insight for its case. The court has ruled that Zatko’s claims will be admissible in the Musk/Twitter case, but the application to delay the trial has once again been denied due to concerns that any further delays could risk further harm to Twitter itself. Musk’s team also sought to delay the trial   back in July , pushing for a February 2023 hearing, at the earliest, but Delaware’s Court of Chancery instead agreed with Twitter’s view that an expedited trial in October would be best. interest Outlines Latest Efforts to Combat Political Misinformation Ahead of the US Midterms

Image
With the US midterms fast approaching, Pinterest has  outlined its latest measures  to combat political misinformation via Pins. Which may seem like a lesser consideration. The visual style of Pinterest, and its Pins, probably doesn’t immediately spark thoughts of potential political manipulation. But as with all platforms, Pinterest  has been the target of coordinated manipulation in the past , and as such, it’s important that it too takes steps to address the spread where it can. Pinterest, it’s also worth noting, has  433 million active users , a huge audience, which will no doubt attract those seeking to influence political opinion, if they can. First off, Pinterest is rolling out a new search advisory message for query terms that could be related to elections or voting. As you can see in this example, Pinterest will show a pop-up notifier on related searches which will refer users to   Vote.org  for more information. These types of prompts are only small steps in the broader schem

Instagram Confirms That it is Testing a ‘Re-Post’ Feature for the Main Feed

Image
Hey, you know how your Instagram feed keeps getting disrupted by posts from people and profiles that you don’t follow, and largely don’t care about? Well, it’s about to get even worse. According to a  new finding  by social media expert  Matt Navarra , Instagram is now testing a new ‘Repost’ option, which would enable users to amplify any post by re-sharing it to their followers in the app. As you can see here, soon, users will be able to view a display of all of the posts that a user has re-posted. Instagram has confirmed the test to  TechCrunch , providing the following statement: We’re exploring the ability to reshare posts in Feed – similar to how you can reshare in Stories – so people can share what resonates with them, and so original creators are credited for their work. We plan to test this soon with a small number of people.” S o, essentially, retweets, but for Instagram feed posts instead. Which will probably suck. I mean, people have thus far been  pretty upset  with Insta
